Geoff Young says we need to look at gasification

Geoff Young: "the differences between the numbers that Mr Gilbert shows us and the numbers our staff feel are realistic given what is an attainable and proven technology are so stark and so marked that its clearly that it is the input of technical information that is going to determine our direction. I, as you all know, have been a supporter the plan that this board as a whole developed and I think it was the most economical available to us given the constraints we had. But if Mr Gilbert's numbers are correct and if we can find agreement on a site for one or more gasification plants then I absolutely think that is the direction we should go."

He continues during the meeting with more about how there will be differences in opinions between engineers and technical people.  That is normal and fine.  What is remarkable is this how we may now be able to have that respectful discussion about innovation that may save billions in taxes while doing more for the environment.
